Flannan Isles - August 2005

Breakfast

Breakfast is generally served at:-

8.00 am - Scottish Breakfast

8.15am - Continental Breakfast

Due to our remote location and excess of children we do occasionally run out of one or two items but we can usually offer a wide variety of breakfast goodies; -

Scottish Breakfast:

Porridge, bacon, sausage, ‘the’ famous Stornoway black pudding, mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans, eggs and potato cakes.  Or any combination that you fancy! (We serve organic, local and free range products (even our own!!!) when possible)

Lighter Choices:

Cereals, toast, organic yogurts, fresh and dried fruit, nuts, croissant, spicy fruit breads, preserves, cinnamon bagels, oatcakes, French ('eggy'!) bread.

Also a selection of Juices and Hot Drinks:

orange, organic apple, cranberry juice.

Teas (fruit teas also available), coffee, hot chocolate.

Please could you inform us the night before of your requirements.

New for 2010!

Alex, our 15 year old son, received a hen house for his birthday - so  we hope to have our own free range eggs for summer 2010! So what if he wanted a PS3 or an XBox!

News Flash! April 2010!

Ten hens have arrived safe and well from Skye! Free range Uig eggs available soon! Have your breakfast and see where your scrambled eggs have come from, if you know what I mean. Alex is hoping to sell eggs as part of his Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award project.

Many people in Lewis have nicknames - it comes from their being a relatively small number of commonly used christian and surnames; it was obviously important to be able to tell one Donald MacDonald from another!

Alex's nickname is 'Egg' - I will leave him to explain! So it seemed very appropriate to have 'Egg's Eggs' as a business name!

Alex, the hen house and the girls!

February sunrise - 2009.

There will be prizes for all guests who can identify the 'artwork'.  We are grateful for the support of the Scottish Arts Council for this project.

Only kidding.
